Important Notice - Riviera Beach Water Utility Switching Out Water Meters

Attention Palm Beach Shores Residents

Riviera Beach Utility District has just informed us that starting TOMORROW, Thursday, August 8, they will start switching out ALL residential water meters in Town.  The new meters can be read remotely saving the Water Utility District expense.

The project is expected to continue for 3 weeks through the end of the month.

The large properties along Ocean Avenue are already done.  They will now begin work on the “100” blocks (between Ocean and Atlantic), starting on Inlet Way and moving north to Bamboo.  Once those residences are completed, they will move to the “200” blocks, moving south to north, etc. with Lake Drive to be completed last.  Every water meter in Town will be replaced.

A company named UWS has been hired by the Water Utility District to implement the change.  The employees will be wearing bright yellow shirts and have ID badges.  They may need access to back yards.  They will NOT need access inside the homes.
Their trucks should be marked with UWS magnetic signage.

During the meter replacement, the water should only be shut off for 15-20 minutes, barring any issues.  No home equipment, such as your AC, should be affected but it is always a good idea to have someone checking regularly on your property when you are away.  Your water will be left in the same status as they found it.  In other words, if it was shut off, they will leave it shut off.

Yellow door hangers will be place 24-48 hours prior to work on residential meters.  There is a customer service number on the door hanger and you know that you can always call Alan or Town Hall with questions.  There may be as many as 3 visits necessary to complete the transition.  Blue door hangers will notify you when the work has been completed.  Our Police have been asked to remove any door hangers on known vacant properties.

This should be a painless process but if you have issues, let us know.
