Trevor Steedman began his Fire Service career in 1987 as a Cadet Firefighter in Ocean City, Maryland.  Trevor comes to Palm Beach Shores after concluding nearly three decades of service to the Town of Ocean City, retiring as a career Captain (Battalion Chief) with the Ocean City Fire Department, where he commanded the Office of Training, Health & Safety. He has been a career Fire Officer since 1999, serving in several capacities including Shift Commander, Special Operations Commander and Training Officer. Trevor developed many of the Special Operations Teams and training programs for his department including the Dive Rescue Unit, HEAT Team, SCBA Re-Certification program, a State recognized Fire Training Academy, recruit testing and training, the Office of Training, Health, & Safety and a variety of internal policies, programs and training initiatives. Trevor earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Science from the University of Maryland and is a current candidate in the Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy.  He is an experienced instructor, having the privilege of teaching at the Local, State, National and International levels.  His experience includes being a Senior Field Instructor/Special Programs Instructor for the Maryland Fire & Rescue Institute, FDIC International, Vice Chairman of the Maryland Council of Fire & Rescue Training Academies and owning a training company where he has conducted training or consulted for departments and training conferences in several states including the Mid-Atlantic region, the Mid-West, Southern U.S. and Baltimore City.  Trevor brings an extensive operational background as well to Palm Beach Shores.  He was deployed as a team leader (Operation Lifeline) during Hurricane Katrina, served as Water Rescue Unit Leader during Hurricane Irene and was designated as Planning Section & Logistics Section Chief and Fire Branch Director during Hurricane "Super-Storm" Sandy. Trevor also served at the request of a neighboring state on its Incident Management Team.  He also served as a volunteer firefighter and held a variety of administrative, committee, and operational positions, including serving several years as an Assistant Chief.  Trevor looks forward to serving the citizens and visitors of “The best little town in Florida” and calling Palm Beach Shores “home” for him and his family.
