Town of Palm Beach Shores

Hello Palm Beach Shores,

Chief Duncan Young has resigned as Palm Beach Shores Police Chief to take a position with a private sector technology firm.  The resignation will be effective at the end of his current contract on June 29.

It has been an honor and a pleasure to work with Duncan.  While Chief, he steered us through a difficult period in our Town’s history.  He knew that he was taking on a challenge when he came here and he met it well.

We owe Chief Young our gratitude for his four years of service and many contributions to our Police Department and Town.

As Mayor, it is my pleasure to name Lieutenant Steve Langevin as our next Palm Beach Shores Police Chief.

I don’t have to tell our residents that Steve has consistently demonstrated his loyalty and commitment to our Town residents’ public safety and quality of life.  From Easter Egg hunts on our parkway to spending months away from home in Kentucky for a Police Management degree, Lt. Langevin has been willing to do what is required to serve us.

Steve Langevin has my complete confidence and is endorsed by Chief Young to be his successor.

Please join me and the Commission in wishing Duncan well with his new endeavors and congratulating our next Police Chief, Steve Langevin.

Your Mayor,
Myra
