Community Policing - Officer Root Introduction

December 30, 2016

On behalf of Chief of Police Duncan Young, I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Dennis Root and I am an officer with your Palm Beach Shores Police Department. Chief Young has given me the opportunity to work with Lt. Langevin and Sgt. Simmons to further develop our community policing initiatives.

I have the honor of being your personal point of contact for meeting any community policing and crime prevention needs you may have. I also have the privilege of coordinating the community policing meetings we will be conducting monthly throughout 2017.

I want you to know that I am here to help you in every way possible. I possess the Florida Attorney General’s designations of Crime Prevention Practitioner, CPTED Practitioner (CPTED stands for Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design), and Victim Services Practitioner. These designations empower me to work closely with you in developing your personal safety strategies, as well as conducting security surveys of your home and business, so we can ensure your family and property are as safe and secure as possible.

Below I have provided all my contact information and I urge you to contact me with any questions, or concerns, you may have. Together we can continue to make our incredible community one of the safest in the county, if not the State of Florida.

Thank you for taking the time to read this introduction and I pray you will not hesitate to contact me if there is anything I can do for you on behalf of the Palm Beach Shores Police Department.
