BUILDING DEPARTMENT CLERK

TOWN OF PALM BEACH SHORES

 

The Town of Palm Beach Shores is seeking an experienced Building Department Clerk to provide administrative services in building, licensing, and permitting, as well as assist the Town Clerk and Town Manager in various duties.  This position is also responsible for tracking activities, keeping a calendar of events, answering phones, and minutes taking for development review and occasionally planning and zoning.  The ideal candidate will work well with the public, have excellent problem-solving skills, and be proficient in MSFT Word and preferably Excel.

 

Building department experience is mandatory.  Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience which will provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job will be considered on a case by case basis.  Minimum education of High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required, however advanced training and college coursework/degree is preferred.  The candidate is subject to physical and medical testing (including drug screening), and a background investigation. 

 

Non-Exempt Schedule:  This position is scheduled Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with one-half hour lunch break.  Other assignments are at the direction of the Town Clerk or her designee.   

 

Salary $32,000 to $37,000 based on previous experience, plus benefits package.  The Town of Palm Beach Shores participates in the Florida Retirement System.
