Wendy Wells - Town Treasurer

Wendy was born and raised here in Palm Beach County. She is a second generation Gator, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Florida in 1989. After completing post baccalaureate work at Florida Atlantic University, Wendy passed all four parts of the CPA exam on the first try.
Wendy worked for the local CPA firm Haas, Diaz & Co. for nine years specializing in governmental auditing. Her clients included local special districts and municipalities, including the Town of Palm Beach Shores. Wendy took some time away from work upon the birth of her son in 1998. She returned to auditing on a part-time basis in 2002. After two “busy” seasons, the auditing proved to be too demanding of her time so she resigned. Luck, and a recommendation from her previous boss, would bring Wendy to Palm Beach Shores in March of 2005. Wendy loves working here, as she is able to use her accounting skills while remaining a “hands-on” mom. Wendy has been married to Jim, also a native, since 1994 and they have two children, Jimmy and Sophie. Spending time with her family, especially boating and swimming at Peanut Island are among Wendy’s favorite activities.
