Meet Marty DeLoach,

Marty DeLoach started his fire service training in 1978 obtaining his Fire Science degree and his Emergency Medical Technician license. He was hired by the City of Allen Park as a firefighter and worked there in many positions retiring in 2005 with the last six years as Fire Chief. Marty then worked as the chief executive officer (similar to City Manager) of an independent fire municipality in Michigan. Marty has worked with career and volunteer firefighters throughout his professional life. 

Chief DeLoach has extensive work in pre-hospital emergency medical delivery, working first as an emergency medical technician and later as a paramedic. He has worked on teams as a hazardous materials specialist; he is trained in fire investigations by the Michigan State Police and also trained in the City of Detroit, MI. as a Fire Inspector. Chief DeLoach has extensive knowledge of building construction (being a licensed builder) as well as code enforcement, and fire prevention. Marty was directly involved in the development of a large community college based training facility for fire fighters.  He has developed educational curriculums and taught programs for private industry, universities and fire service organizations in leadership, safety, fire prevention and hazardous materials response. Chief DeLoach has always enjoyed teaching and has been published recently in a book by Bartlett’s titled “Fire and Emergency Services Safety and Survival.”

Chief DeLoach has two associate degrees from Henry Ford Community College. He has a bachelor’s degree in fire science from Madonna University and a master’s degree in interdisciplinary technology with a minor in public administration from Eastern Michigan University.

Chief DeLoach has been elected to leadership positions in numerous Fire Chief Associations. He served as Chairman of the Downriver Fire Mutual Aid (Downriver, MI.), President of Southeast Michigan Association of Fire Chiefs, board member of the Michigan Association of Fire Chiefs and on the board of the Great Lakes Division of the International Association of Fire Chiefs. He is currently serving on the board of the Palm Beach County Fire Chiefs Association as their Vice President.

Marty and his wife have two children.  They can often be found walking our local beach or parkway.  He enjoys walking the family dog (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel), playing hockey, fishing, diving, golfing and spending time with his family and friends.
